David Mace is a New Zealander who has spent 14 years as a Senior Partner with Ernst and Young in Hong Kong. David has had a long association with international business and the thoroughbred industry having owned horses both in Hong Kong and New Zealand.
Racing and Breeding partnerships
Racing Partnerships
Group ownership is often a sensible way of owning thoroughbred racehorses. Racing Partnerships offer “Partners” a chance to increase their action and decrease their risk and capital outlay. With Pacific Thoroughbreds new and experienced owners may join ownership ranks at the top echelons of racing in New Zealand and Australia.
To accommodate budgetary considerations partnerships vary in value and membership size, however, PTL avoids “mass-ownership” style partnerships typified by numerous partners investing small amounts. By limiting membership we are able to offer our Partnerships a high level of personal service.
PTL underwrites all of our racing partnerships and will normally maintain a shareholding in any one partnership.
Breeding Partnerships
Pacific Thoroughbreds breeding partnerships offer longer term investment normally into broodmares which are put to selected stallions through some of our partner Thoroughbred Studs with the progeny sold through the auction ring. Investment into selected fillies for racing purposes and a potential broodmare future is also a key part of our breeding operations.
When buying a share in a PTL partnership it is possible to split the cost with family and friends or colleagues, however for logistical and management reasons PTL will only recognise one “Designated Partner”.
