Based in Stone, Derek Morton runs the competition and stud farm, Beech House Stud. Derek Morton has competed internationally as a show jumper and is one of the UK`s leading working hunter riders. Originally from Scotland Derek Morton has decades of experience in the equestrian world.
Derek Morton – Showjumper
Derek Morton began his jumping career, when working for Geoff Glazzard, beginning as stable jockey producing the young horses, Derek would go on and produce a number of these to compete himself internationally. Horses produced by Derek Morton to international level from youngsters include, Gentle Breeze, Chain Reaction, Its Mine, Niagra B, Miss Opel, Mr Majestic, Cash Back and many, many others.
Derek Morton – Working Hunter
As well as being successful in the showjumping arena, Derek has also had lots of success in working hunter competitions. Derek has competed at HOYS numerous occasions and has won the championships with Keep Talking.
Beech House Stud
Beech House Stud, have a long history of standing top class showjumping stallions at Stud, past stallions include Its The Business who was one of top British breeding stallions, competed internationally by Geoff Glazzard and Mr Majestic, sired by Concorde together Derek Morton represented Great Britain at the world breeding championships. Beech House Stud often have a selection of stallions at stud. Beech House Stud is also a well respected sport horse breeder, producing a good selection of foals every year, Beech House Stud always have a selection of young horses as well as more experience horses for sale.

Catchas Catch Can – Originally competed by Shaz Wild, this talented mare was bought for Derek Morton to compete, together the pair competed internationally with a great deal of success
Gentle Breeze – Sired by the thoroughbred stallion Mighty Wind xx, Gentle Breeze was sent to Derek as a four year old. Derek produced Gentle Breeze through the age classes competing her on the Spanish sunshine tour and qualifying for a number of young horse finals at Horse of the Year Show. Gentle Breeze`s promise would continue through to international level were Derek and Breeze would go on to numerous placing and wins on the county show circuit as well as international shows.
Its Mine – Bred by Derek Its Mine was a son of Its The Business, Its Mine was kept as a stallion but not used at stud. Another horse produced from a young age by Derek Morton, Its Mine would again compete in young horse classes through to international classes. Its Mine was a fantastic horse against the clock and won many, many classes.
