Sarah Hall started riding when she was five and since then has experienced most equestrian disciplines before deciding that Dressage was the sport for her.
She became head rider for Markus Bauer for two years, developing a young horse (Pashmina) for the Addington Mare Grading and competing client's horses. During this period, she gained her PTT with the BHS and has subsequently gained her BHSAI and is now fully registered.
She then joined Wayne Channon, initially in the UK and then in Belgium. She worked for Wayne for about five years, assisting him on the International circuit with his Grand Prix horses, including the World Equestrian Games at Aachen and the European Championships in Hagen, Germany. She also helped him to develop a number of young horses. Whilst with Wayne, she was trained to Grand Prix and has produced horses up to Prix St Georges.
With Wayne she developed a strong appreciation for academic horse training - as developed by Andrew & Manuela McLean - and also gained experience of the German and Dutch breeding processes during her work in Holland, Belgium and England. She also worked for short periods in Switzerland.
Until recently, she worked as an advanced rider and Instructor at the Oldencraig Equestrian Centre where she was also able to train with Vicky Thompson-Winfield. During her time there, she developed several young horses and competed them in the Shearwater Qualifier. She also competed in the 2010 Young Horse National and International classes in the Hickstead Premier League and was placed in both classes. In addition to this, Sarah represented Team Southern at the Inter-Regionals at Keysoe 2010, winning her section and and awarded highest score of the whole competition.
She has developed a good eye for quality horses and has developed refined, sympathetic techniques for training horses for both Professionals and Amateurs. Her competition record has included competing at Advanced level in Belgium at Young Stables, Zandhoven and Stal Wittenberg, Herentals where she consistently scored highly on her own horse, Uferro II (Ferro x Ramiro Z). Her strong points are producing top quality dressage horses for optimum performance and being a consistently successful competition rider.
Uferro II was turned away due to an unfortunate injury, just before his debut at small tour level. After a year off, he has recently been able to return to work and she has high hopes for him! Earlier in 2011, he was able to compete in unaffiliated Novice and Elementary competitions, scoring 74% in E58 at Hickstead and in October, he competed at Merrist Wood at Advanced Level (Advanced 100), gaining 64%. More recently, he has competed at Pachesham and will be getting more experience with Sarah during 2012.
Sarah is also registered on the British Dressage Trainer's database, having completed the UKCC Level 2 training.
